Business Analyst

The QA Analyst will expand our Quality Assurance team and work closely with a small group of engineers on our flag ship product. The successful candidate will work to ensure the quality of both our data and our software. They will bring with them demonstrated experience in both of these realms.

Our bright, open office is in Midtown Manhattan, near Columbus Circle and steps from Central Park. We have the usual drinks and snacks, and we're still small enough celebrate everyone's birthday with cake!

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

REQUIRED

  • - 3+ years of hands-on experience managing end to end, the design, definition and delivery of technical solutions in-line with strategic goals
  • - Skilled at defining and documenting business processes and requirements for system enhancements
  • - Solid comprehension of exchange traded derivatives and financial market data
  • - Previous work with testing of changes to ensure the solution is delivered per the requirements
  • - Proven track record of successfully delivering projects
  • - Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate requirements and decisions to both technical and non-technical teams
  • - Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a vast array of information

PLUS

  • - IIBA or PMI certification; understanding of BABOK and PMBOK principles
  • - Knowledge of Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid SDLC methodologies
  • - Experience proactively identifying risks, and driving action to mitigate and resolve issues

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • - Work with business, technical, and operational teams to deliver new and enhanced products and services

  • - Conduct User Acceptance Testing and validate results for business approval

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • - Perform hands-on QA including data quality, new features and regression testing
  • - Create and execute automated verification scripts

Research Associate

NEW YORK, NY
RESEARCH, FULL-TIME

DESCRIPTION

OptionMetrics is the premier provider of options research data used by over 300 investment banks, hedge funds and academic institutions. We are seeking to expand our in-house analytic and research capabilities with the addition of a full-time research associate.

As a member of the OptionMetrics team, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing research studies to support both existing and new lines of business. You will survey and investigate new and existing empirical options research, assist with the design and development of new analytic research products and services, and support our quality assurance department by designing and implementing statistical measures of option data quality.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • - Strong quantitative skills including linear algebra, statistics, time series analysis.
  • - Ability to review and analyze existing literature and conduct empirical studies.
  • - Excellent verbal and written presentation skills. Ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • - Proficiency in implementation of models and analyses in MATLAB, R, or an equivalent environment.
  • - PhD in Finance, Econometrics or Economics or Masters with equivalent research experience (recent graduate or due to graduate in 2016).

Systems Engineer

NEW YORK, NY
OPERATIONS, FULL-TIME

DESCRIPTION

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day administration of the server and network infrastructure and related systems. The candidate must possess a professional demeanor, and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, vendors and customers. The right candidate will have a successful track record of working independently with little supervision as well as within a team. Effective multi-tasking is a must. The candidate should be willing to work off-hours and on-call hours.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

The qualified candidate will have:

  • - Excellent first-line monitoring and troubleshooting skills with an eye towards improving processes to minimize issues
  • - Expert understanding of the Windows 2008/2012 and Linux operating systems
  • - Experience managing a small team of employees
  • - Demonstrated experience with scripting and automation
  • - Experience with a DevOps environment and tools, specifically TeamCity and Terraform
  • - Demonstrated experience with SQL

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • - 5+ years IT experience with strong understanding of IT infrastructure, theories, principles, and practices
  • - Comfortable with OS and software installation, configuration and updating/patching
  • - Current knowledge of systems security best practices and procedures
  • - Good understanding of high-availability and disaster recovery architectures

GENERAL SKILLS

  • - Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • - Able to work independently in a high-pressure environment
  • - Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • - Experience with building and monitoring systems in AWS
  • - Experience with database administration is a plus
  • - Understanding of network infrastructure
  • - Prior desktop support experience

EDUCATION

  • - Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • - AWS Certification

PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE

  • - Extensive Windows/Linux Server administration experience with a minimum of 5 years technology related experience.
